Reproduction, Development and Aging (TB 8)

The topic module "Reproduction, Development and Aging" devotes special attention to human development at the end of the second year of study. We deal with the basics of human genetics, reproduction and the emergence and development of new life (embryology) and aging processes (focus: age-associated diseases such as tumor development, demographic aging). Furthermore, we familiarize our students with the hormonal regulation of these processes.

Analogous to physical growth, students here also learn about the psychological stages of human development. In addition, the sociological aspect plays a role in this module. In the courses of medical sociology we consider - in addition to the growth of the individual - the demographic development of society.
