Ethics Seminars

The human being is at the center of medical activity. Therefore, high demands are placed on physicians in terms of professional, personal and communicative competence.

The ethics seminars offered to clinical internship year students are aimed at developing their own (future) professional role, among other things through qualified reflection on the day-to-day clinical experience. In addition to the practice-related teaching of the basics of medical ethics, the aim is also to examine and understand medical actions on the basis of ethical principles. The offer serves the expansion of social and ethical competence (= superordinate learning objectives in Q3).

The seminars usually take place as a day event once a month and last from 9:30 to 16:00. The venue is the Supply Center Building 17.21. Participation is voluntary and free of charge. The clinical internship year students are released from their duties on the wards for participation.

The seminar is organized and held by the Catholic hospital chaplaincy at the UKD in cooperation with the Catholic university community in Düsseldorf.
